Poetry in Motion

Poems created for and from the worship of Jesus, but relating to an array of matters that may or may not be 'church-centric'. If any of the scribblings on this site have interested you and you would like to discuss them further, perhaps would like hard copies, then please use the 'comment' forums at the end of each post (providing contact details) and I will do my best to reply.

Everything and All

Little rain drops
pitter patter across the roof.
Everything sounds so soft
as a monsoon rages outside.

Angels fall
and demons die
and dogs bark
and cats cry
and some say hello
and some say goodbye
and some try to fail
and some fail to try.

And life goes on.

Snowdrop crystals scatter
silently sealing the world under.
Such beauty
with such inherent danger.

Some days you held together,
some days your heart bled,
some days you stood your ground,
some days you fled,
some days you faced the world,
some days you hid instead,
some days you heard everything
some days nothing was said.

Sometimes, life goes on.

And life goes on,
despite today.
Despite what you feel
or see
or flee
or push through
or can’t manage any more…

Despite that,
I know life goes on.

Despite hopeless hope,
I hope.
And I know that even
though we walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
life can always go on
if we go on with it.

God Bless,
-Matt K.
